Wrestling
No weight classes and no time limit. A wrestler loses when anything above the knee touches the ground. The ranks, the titles and the eagle dance performed before and after each bout carry more meaning than the bouts themselves, and are the part worth having explained.
Archery and horse racing
Archery is quieter and far easier to get close to, which makes it better for photography than the main arena. The horse racing is not a track event: it is a cross-country race over open steppe, run by child jockeys, and it is the discipline that least resembles anything you will have seen elsewhere.
