What to expect from a night in a ger camp

The standard

A ger camp is a fixed set of felt gers with beds, a stove, and a separate bathroom block with hot water. It is closer to a simple hotel than to camping. You are not sleeping on the ground and you are not sharing with strangers.

  • Beds with proper mattresses and bedding, usually two to four per ger
  • A wood or dung stove, lit for you in the evening and often again at dawn
  • Shared bathroom and shower block, with hot water at set hours in simpler camps
  • Electricity for a few hours, frequently solar, rarely enough for a hairdryer

What upgrading changes

The Premium Camp Upgrade changes the bathroom ratio first, which is what most guests actually notice, then the bedding and the dining. In peak season it also buys reliability, because the best camps fill early and the fallback options drop off sharply.
